Description: This data contains sidewalks across York Region, with a focus on those along regional roads. Data from the local municipalities was provided where available with defined use restrictions in some cases. In areas where local municipal data was unavailable or inappropriate, York Region generated its own line work. Several sources were used including orthophotography, maps and information used previously by roads and infrastructure planning branches, and excel spreadsheets, dwgs or pdfs provided by the municipalities. Data generated by York Region was compared to the 2007 orthophotography but data provided by the municipalities was not.
